About me

Born in Paris and living in the UK since my student days, I have been translating, subtitling and interpreting for over 25 years. Passionate about literature, the cinema and the theatre, I chose to specialise early on in creative translation.

After my M.A. in translation and interpreting, I taught part-time at the University of Surrey where I also took part in translation research projects. Following a presentation on subtitling by Jeswyn Jones of Omnititles, I became her assistant and learnt to spot, translate and edit feature films and documentaries. Those skills have always proved invaluable when translating texts where space on the pre-formatted page is limited or the length of a voice-over script must match the original.

I loved my time at Omnititles, subtitling for British television or collaborating with independent directors. I eventually set up my own business to explore other areas of translation whilst subtitling for Omnititles on a freelance basis until taking over on Jeswyn’s retirement.

Today, I run both businesses from South London and love the variety of projects they allow. I’m proud to say that at Omnititles, we have now subtitled over 1,000 films – many of them well-known. If you are interested in my subtitling service, please visit my Omnititles website.

After 30 years in the UK, I have acquired an excellent knowledge of written and spoken English with their subtleties and nuances. I keep my mother tongue as up to date as my English by making frequent trips to France, reading novels and articles and watching news programmes, films, plays and series.
